Yeah, they wouldn't just introduce a character out of nowhere like that, so ofc she'll be prevalent for these last couple of episodes. So prevalent in fact, that we got the little lore drop that she's indeed Karen's sister and such.

But yeah, Ayame is a certain type of person. Don't wanna say it because it'll come off as rude, but yeah, you get what I'm laying down. She joins as the badminton team's manager for that reason alone. Poor Taiki though, because this girl does NOT know what personal space is xD

Poor Hina as well, she indeed lost the battle lmao.

Girls talk episode! This was such a cute and fun one that went by in the blink of an eye. Kinda nice to get a chill episode that doesn’t give me anxiety after how stressful the last couple have been. Relatively low stakes with Karen and Chinatsu’s sleepover and Ayame scary ass running from bugs 😂

It’s interesting that Chinatsu still doesn’t think of herself as having romantic feelings for Taiki. It’s more of an adoration and yearning to get to know more about him now. That makes sense given she’s never really had romantic experience before and even growing up that wasn’t her thing. Think it’s fair to say we’d all count it as romance, but she’s not quite there yet!

Karen tryna plug her friend with Chinatsu made me chuckle a bit because the author really nailed the “my friend over there wanna talk to you” sort of chat teenagers would actually have!

Chinatsu might have some competition among first years now?? Ayame is such a fun new character. It was hard enough for her to see Hina hanging with Taiki and now she gotta deal with Ayame clinging to him every time she sees a spider(real af) her being club manager is gonna be fun too!

This episode went by so quick had a ton of fun with it. Can’t wait for next week’s!

Karen said that the way Chinatsu describes the "love" in the form of a flower metaphor is a bit weird, but damn ... that was actually really beautifully put into words of what a romantic relationship is, and how important it is to maintain such a relationship. Very spot on description.

Ayame seems like the type of character I'd like on some other anime. Idk, kinda kills the mood of Chinatsu's developement. It'd be kinda sad if she realized her feelings through jealousy. I think it's a lil bit off character and maybe poorer writing than what we usually see in this show. I'm looking foreward to next week, when I'll probably come back here admiting I was wrong though

I don’t know who got the worse luck out of the original love triangle, but now that we are doing love polygon/harem shenanigans now it will be a turbulent final four episodes.

Also, it is so weird that Chinatsu materializes out of thin-air whenever Taiki and Ayame touch since Chinatsu will not make a big scene of it in any case.

We are very light on our losing heroine this week.

Every morning, incoming first-year Taiki Inomata hurries to his high school gym in order to further refine his badminton skills. However, his true motivation stems from sharing the otherwise empty gym with second-year Chinatsu Kano, Taiki's crush and the star player of the girls' basketball team. Although Chinatsu seems unapproachable, Taiki gradually finds opportunities to get to know her little by little.

Unbeknownst to Taiki, his tireless work ethic and admiration motivate Chinatsu to work harder and strive to achieve her greatest ambitions. When her family must suddenly move overseas for work, Chinatsu decides to remain in Japan and shoot for victory at the national level. With nowhere to stay, she is taken in by Taiki's mother, who is longtime friends with Chinatsu's own. Overwhelmed with the new reality of living alongside the girl he loves, Taiki resolves to join Chinatsu at the national level in his own sport—and grow closer to her in the process.

Still, despite being good enough to catch his coach's eye, Taiki must fight an uphill battle to qualify for a spot on the starting team. Cheered on by both Chinatsu and gymnast Hina Chouno, his childhood friend, Taiki aims to make a name for himself among his powerful upperclassmen.

I decided to jump ahead to the early release episode this week, seeing that this has been coming out consistently in the places I watch anime it just felt dumb to stay a week behind any longer, also I really wanted to see more Ayame lol, and I got what I wanted, safe to say she’s my new favorite character, she’s just been a hoot the whole time since she’s been introduced, and ngl I shoulda known she was related to Karen, she’s the only other purple haired character in the show lol, although Ayame is a bit more on the blue side, and I’m known to stan a blue haired queen.

And it looks like the way Ayame makes things more interesting is by being the manager for the boys’ badminton club, funny that she did it for Yusa but he’s not even at the same school lol, but she found a reason to stick around thankfully, her moments with Taiki have already been really good thanks to those clutch spiders. But even with Ayame clinging to Taiki the way she has, I’m not sure if this is gonna lead to anything more between them, we have seen how quick she moves on from crushes so it’s possible she stirs the shit temporarily and moves on to another fella, but even then I’m loving what she’s brought to the show so far. And lastly, I really loved Karen’s one on one with Chinatsu, it was really interesting seeing the way Chinatsu sees her relationship with Taiki romantically, and Karen’s advice was also really nice, that’s a real friend right there.

overall good episode, ayame being introduced is a mistake but chinatsu admitting she's interested in taiki is a pretty big step

however the AUDACITY this show has to have a scene of chinatsu saying "i shot it like curry" after this show having horrendous shooting form animations is insane. Truth be told this was closer to a proper jumpshit but holy shit you can't just bring attention to something you neglect this bad

Lmao Chinatsu feeding Taiki those chips (or whatever they were) at the start was so funny and cute.

Wow. Chinatsu finally admits that she has a thing for Taiki to Karen. But it's only an "interest". Whatever the heck that means. And her analogy feels like she's just trying to push down her true feelings and bury them cause she'd rather do other things like basketball. But her heart is telling her otherwise. Damn. She could just date Taiki and play basketball at the same time. Similar to Karen and Haryu's relationship. But Ig she doesn't want that yet. Or she just doesn't know how cause she wasn't interested in romance up until now. I feel bad about Taiki. It's nearly impossible to read that girl. But that is also what makes Chinatsu interesting to me.

Woah. The badminton club introduced a female manager! I almost forgot that was a thing in sports anime. This feels like quite a late addition. But it's Ayame who's actually Karen's sister. Bruh.

Ayame's introduction to the cast might be very important for how things play out next. Since she's the type to hop around boyfriends a lot, maybe she could push Taiki and Chinatsu into something. But her being afraid of spiders and attaching to Taiki seems to be causing more damage instead of helping. At least for now. I hope it'll push Chinatsu to do something later lol. Chinatsu is probably still afraid of bugs cause spiders aren't bugs. They're arachnids. Jk.

Chinatsu's still thinking about Taiki's situation regarding the "not-kiss" between him and Hina. Narrowing down her feelings for him in a plant analogy, Karen is able to put down a more simple explanation as to how she probably feels while also giving her advice on a topic Chinatsu sin't too familiar with or perhaps too catious about. This level headedness and the way to articulate regarding concepts that normally seem complex is what makes her one of my favorite characters from this series.

But the focus this time was on the purple haired girl we got a glimpse of earlier and who not only is Karen's sister but the new manager of the badminton club: Ayame. She's in the other end of the spectrum regarding relationship and gets close to others way too easily without filter nor worrying about rumours and the such. I like this shift as it can make for some interesting dynamics and make Chinatsu's situation not feel stale. Plus she's also... well you know, she has another ace up her sleeve.

Will something notable happen with her before the season ends? Is there enough time for that even?

Ayame is a fun addition to the cast. She's Karen's little sister and much more of a free bird. Karen gave a good talking to Chinatsu and now we know that Chinatsu also likes Taiki but she's not ready yet for things to progress. Hina, this is not looking good for you, my girl.

Ayame is the new manager and looks like she joined because of Yusa. LOL. Although, she wanted to leave at first but she'll stick around till the next time they face each other. And, Chinatsu is getting more and more jealous. LOL

Idk why but this episode was very refreshing I liked it a lot more than the last few, maybe Ayame had something to do with it im not sure. Literally the moment they started going on about Karen having a sister I just knew it would be her and yep my prediction was right.

But like dam Ayame needs a filter she can't just jump from guy to guy as naturally as she breaths, Im really hoping she don't fall for Taiki though cause I've had enough of that with this show.

The moments between Karen and Chinatsu were cute this episode, She's finally being a little more honest about her feelings.

I expected Ayame to leave an impression on myself and she certainly didn't disappoint in that regard! She's the complete opposite of her older sister, Karen, when it comes to romance with the way she goes through "boyfriends" at a ridiculous rate. Despite that, I still enjoyed what she got up to in this episode, like how she became the badminton club's manager just because she was simping for Yusa so badly, but was disappointed when she found out that he goes to a different school.

Still, her involvement will shake up a few things in terms of romance, especially for Chinatsu. She did confirm to Karen that she does have feelings for Taiki, but it's not to the point where she wants to go out with him. Her talk with Karen about how different people go about romance at a different pace was nice, so it makes sense as to why she's taking the cautious approach here.

As for Hina, she's handling the aftermath of the play really well, which Taiki could learn a thing from her since he's become too uptight and self aware about what others think of him and Hina. Also, I really wanted to comfort Hina after seeing her sad expression after she saw how, uh, "Developed" Ayame's chest is compared to her own. XD

Moriya Ayame is not a good model to follow. Too bad for Taiki that he let himself be seen in such a posture by Chii.

Chii surely likes Taiki, but I don’t know, maybe she’s shy about it or doesn’t know exactly what she’s feeling at the moment.

How come Ayame Moriya became the manager team if she doesn’t like sports? That wouldn’t make sense, but I hope it will not affect the current relationship between Taiki and Chii.

So it's finally confirmed that Chinatsu likes Taiki... well, sort of, but it's still progress. Ok, maybe not that much, considering Hina is taking full advantage of the rumors about her and Taiki to gain some ground. 😂

Damn, Ayame really has no filter. She straight up told the whole team (who were excited about her addition) that she only came because of Yusa and he doesn't even play there. Still, she's pretty fun and a great addition... though not so much for Hina, since she just lost some ground in the race due to lack of bust.

By the way, how many spiders are in that gym?

Ahhh, I love Blue Box so much!

We got more insight to what Chinatsu really thinks about Taiki, and it is like I was expecting: She likes Taiki, she just isn't sure that she LOVES him. I can totally understand Chinatsu on this, it's quite hard to understand if you love a person or if you just like them, especially when you have much more to worry abou too (in this case, basketball). But I think Chinatsu is realizing that if she doesn't love him, at least she has a big affinity to him, because she DID NOT LIKE that kiss.
Also, Chinatsu is back with leaving with Taiki, so we'll probably see more of their in-house interactions from the next episode!

We finally got more info about Ayame, Karen's litle sister (which I alreade knew, because people here in the forum gave that little spoiler, and the similarities between the 2 just gave it away). She's the complete opposite to Chinatsu, in the way that she easily labels as love any affinity feeling she has for a determined boy, that is easily shaken off by the slightest thing. By what it states, she has had a bunch of boyfriends already, and always brokes up with them for some odd reason (the last one was because the barist didn't understand if he said medium or small?!). I don't fully know yet if that's because she's just picky, or if she just doesn't really love any of them, and that's why the slightest thing makes her want to break up, and easily gets bored of them. I would bet it's the second case. It's clear she doesn't see a relationship between 2 people that important, as for example Taiki or Chinatsu sees.
Now, Ayame joining the badmiton club just so she could see Yusa everyday, and then learning he isn't actually from that school, and she was like "well, then I'm done here, nice to meet you all, see ya". This girl has 0 filters xD
The way she also gets so close to Taiki without worrying about rumors or whatever reinforces that she doesn't have the same perspective on intimacy as other characters.

I'm still worried about the direction they are going with the story with the introduction of Ayame. In this episode we had 2 scenes with her getting close to Taiki, making Chinatsu jealous (I'm not sure to who the comment she made was, if it was to either Taiki or Ayame, and I'm referring to the comment of how some people really do fall in love quickly, maybe thinking that Taiki boy was over her in some episodes, in the latest episodes he was over Hina, and now he's ready for Ayame, but it's obvious Taiki has only 1 space in his heart, and it's for Chinatsu), which points out to the fact Ayame might be another love rival (please don't do this), but by the end of the episode she gave that speech to Taiki, which goes more to the idea I had last episode, that is that she's going to help Taiki finally making a decision about his relationship with both Chinatsu and Hina.

I also laughed more than I should have when Hina was shocked when she saw, well, Ayame xD

Also, I would like to see Ayame and Yusa becoming a real thing, I don't know, they kinda click xD

Only 4 more episode to go, and we all now what's comming in one of those ;-;

@PokefanPT 100% percent agreed. idk, we've seen very little of her, so it's still too early and unfair to judge, but these few interactions she had with Taiki left me with a "well that's the kind of generic girl-mc interactions and reactions we'd see on some random romcom" taste on the tongue. And up until this point Blue Box hasn't been like that in anyway (it's been frequently the opposite, actually). But as I said earlier, it'll probably develop just fine and this week I'm probably come back here saying I was wrong (at least I hope and expect)

Chinatsu finally admits her feelings for Taiki (even if it's only slightly).

we get a new character in the mix, a potential 3rd competitor? who knows.. I have a feeling probably considering her... affliction she has when it comes to bouncing around from guys to guys.

Hina keeps pulling the '"you can have me when ever you want card" 😂😂😂. gotta love it. I do feel bad for her though and honestly, I've been on the receiving side of that when I was Taiki's age.. she was exactly like Hina in terms of her openness but I just couldn't reciprocate. I still feel bad to this day and always did wonder what would've happened if I did actually go for it... but again, I was in Taikis situation where I only had thoughts for someone else... alas, those feelings weren't mutual... moral of the story, just reciprocate those feelings if you even slightly have them which I slightly did.. I was just blinded by another lust that never worked out so i get where he is coming from (he definitely can make it work though unlike me)... anyway

overall, I say this every week but I really love this series. One of the best this season honestly 🙌. Looking forward to see how the relationship between Chinatsu and Taiki evolves from here.

see y'all next week!

The way Chinatsu shut Taiki up by feeding him w

She just wants to focus on basketball.

Karen now knows Chinatsu and Taiki are into each other but is yet to let the other know they reciprocate their feelings.

Karen doesn't want Ayame to be a bad influence on Chinatsu ww

Ayame only volunteered to manage the badminton team so she could see Yusa www, she has second thoughts upon learning he doesn't go to Eimei, but she remains as she will see him at competitions and practice matches.

Having Taiki of all people show her the ropes....ah caught by Chinatsu. She realizes she must go on the offensive now there's a second rival in the polygon, she overcame her fear of bugs just for that. Ayame might be helping her relationship with Taiki bloom, after all.

And Hina saw her too when she was getting water for the team, maybe Ayame's presence will push both of them to try harder.

The second time Chinatsu sees the two together she runs away.

Damm Taiki's expressions as Chi feeds him was cute. Karen sure has one hell of an apartment. But i guess that comes for being a successful actress. Nice to finally hear Chi's thoughts on her bond with Taiki. The plant metaphor was a pretty apt way to describe their current bond. Hmm so Karen's younger sister is Ayame. The two sure are polar opposites personality wise. A little messy is one hell of a understatement. Guess spiders are now Taiki's mortal enemies thanks to Ayame's fear of them that causes misunderstandings.
